4/12/18 - Dutch Business Breakfast | An Embassy – what’s in there for me?
Together with the Dutch Embassy, DBN arranged a breakfast session at the newly launched Erasmus Huis Library.
In this special occasion, H.E. Rob Swartbol as the Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia and Hans de Brabander as the Head of Economic Division explained how the Embassy functions and how the Embassy can support Dutch Businesses in Indonesia. It was a very productive dialogue with some great take aways for the speakers and the audience.

20/11/18 - Panel discussion | "How to grow beyond the startup phase of a company?"
DBN met at the brand new Lazada Jakarta office for a Startup Pannel Discussion and Networking event.
The topic of the panel was: “How to grow beyond the startup phase of a company” and we will had the following panel members:

After an hour long interactive sharing session we enjoyed a beautiful evening on the outdoor terras of lazada’s office. Bob & team thank you again for your hospitality.
14/11/18 - Company visit | to Vopak Tanjung Priok
We visited Vopak at their Tanjung Priok Terminal for an exclusive behind the scenes DBN-member only company visit on how oil terminals work.
The event was opened with an afternoon coffee break provided by our host and continued with a sharing session. The sharing session covered an introduction to Vopak/JTT and included terminal details and the role of the terminal on fuel supply and its expansion project. A safety briefing was given to all participants before going to the site. Thank you Vopak, the evening was well spent and very insightful.
07/11/18 - Life Sciences and Health Delegation
On Wednesday 7th of November we met with the Life Sciences & Health Delegation coming from the Netherlands led by the Minister of Health, Welfare & Sport, Sybilla Dekker for a networking event.
The event with the theme: “The rapidly changing healthcare environment in Indonesia”discussed the expected changes for the years to come on Health Care in Indonesia. Two expert speakers gave a short presentation followed by an open discussion and networking drinks.
Speakers:
- Dr Adhiatma Gunawan, Doctorpreneur.
Founded www.meetdoctor.com in 2011, which is a free online portal where patients can talk to a doctor. In 2015 he sold the portal to a Japanese investment group, at that time with 15.000 visitors per day the leading Health Portal in Indonesia. He continued his entrepreneurial journey with VP Digital & Healthcare, a communications agency and recently launched a new Skin Care brand: AFA.
- Jules Korsten, Country Director Medtronic Indonesia.
Before joining Medtronic, the largest medical technology company in the world, 8 years ago, Jules worked with the Boston Consulting Group and he was with the United Nations in Indonesia focusing on disaster relief (Tsunami Aceh).
11/10/18 - Dutch Business Breakfast | Partners in Defence projects - Thales
During the breakfast session Erik-Jan Raatgerink, President director at Thales, shared with us how the defense industry works and how Thales manages their business in Indonesia.
A very informative sharing session, in which working with state-owned companies was discussed, finding reliable business partners and suppliers as pieces of militair equipment consist of many different parts from many different subcontractors. Erik-Jan also shared in detail what is involved in closing orders in his business and the long lead times of the project he is involved in.

4/9/18 - Dutch Business Breakfast | The power and importance of Social Media
Dutch Ambassador Rob Swartbol welcomed 50 DBN members to his residence for a Dutch Business Breakfast session on: The power and importance of social media.
Speakers for this event were Sri Widowati, Country Director at Facebook, and Matthijs Wiggers, Advertising & Media Expert. Matthijs presented an overview of the various social media channels in Indonesia and how they are being used. Mbak Wido shared with us the power of the Facebook platform in building businesses.
Both speakers stayed around to answer multiple questions from the audience. Mbak Sri and Matthijs thank you so much for your insightful presentations and Mr Rob Swartbol thank you so much for your hospitality.
We raised 3.2 mio contribution from walk in guests (non-DBN members). As the Ambassador was so kind to provide the breakfast free of charge we donated the money to Lombok earthquake survivors.
23/8/18 - Company visit | to Multi Bintang
With 35 DBN members we visited the Multibintang brewery in Tangerang for a DBN Company visit.
We were hosted by Mariska van Drooge – Parlevliet, Erik Mul, Lex van der Zon and Chew Boon Hee. They shared with us the long history of the brewery in Indonesia and the wide range of products that they are now producing. What followed was a complete tour of the brewery that ended in the Tangerang bar, where happy hour was about to begin and we were allowed to taste all the Multi Bintang products. The highlight of the evening was the bartender competition where the beer tapping skills of our members were tested to the limit.
