Healthcare sector is still developing in Indonesia, while it is quite advanced in the Netherlands. The main problem facing Indonesia’s healthcare sector is the financing and providing access to treatment for its citizens. The inequality of treatment between the poor and the rich, as well as the insurance holders and non-holder is considerably high.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands every citizen is obliged to have health insurance with government subsidy to a certain extent. Over the last five years, healthcare start-up has been taking new opportunities to provide digital/ online doctor’s consultation and in the future, we will see new start-up emerge.

This section will discuss the challenges and opportunities of these digital start-up in Indonesia, and whether we can learn from the Netherlands.
